Abstract
Knee ligaments reconstruction surgery is currently a common practice worldwide. Considering surgical reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) alone, it is estimated that more than 100,000 of these procedures are performed annually in the United States [1, 2] representing yearly costs that exceed half a billion dollars.
